YES! I DID IT AGAIN!
Again, with the community of rebooters of course.
Some of you might be wondering why we are doing this and you might find that we are torturing ourselves.
Actually, we are not.
We are giving our body the chance to rest and regenerate whatever cells it needs to regenerate.
And we are letting our body discharge whatever toxin it need to discharge,
All through the process called autophagy.
At the same time, while being in deep ketosis, our body is at its optimal state to burn fat for energy for our body.
Meaning to say, our body would have reached a stage where all the glucose would have been depleted and the body is now turning to fats (which was supposed to be the primary source of energy) to burn energy for the body.
So what happens when the body runs out of glucose?
We start to feel sleepy or lethargic.
We start to feel like we are losing the energy.
We start feeling chills on our hands and feet.
And all these are just signs of our body conserving energy because it knows that glucose level is running low and it needs us to take in glucose again to burn energy for the body.
But once it recognises that there's fats in the body, where they are metabolised by our liver to produce ketones, burns energy for our body as fuel and the whole energy level starts to change.
This is something that we were never taught in biology or chemistry classes back in school.
And this is because this conversation of the science and benefits behind ketosis is still very new.
This began with allowing ketosis to treat children with epilepsy and also a diet used in the US marine to assist them in performing in a more optimal state.
If you are curious to find out more, you can check out the videos in my links page.
Which is why, if someone were to jump straight into a 60hour reboot, they are going to eb challenged with the symptoms stated above and will start to believe that they have to tap out of the reboot because their body is not in an optimal performance state.
On the contrary, if one can push through the transition from glucose to fats for fuel, the feeling is totally different.
So allow me share how the my journey was for this 60hour reboot, especially when I was on a regular high carb diet 1 week prior to the start of it.
DAY ONE
Super lethargic and I was really puffy. I reckon the puffiness was due to all the water retention that was accumulated from the carbs that I was taking prior to the reboot.
I was also feeling the thirst and the constant hunger that was ringing in my tummy.
I down-ed almost close to 6 litres of water and was still not hydrated enough.
I went by the day in a fog and I was hardly focusing on anything except the fact that I was really hungry and dehydrated.
DAY TWO
After surviving the hunger pang (which in case you are not aware, only lasts for 30mins), I woke up feeling more energetic. I wasn't as thirsty but my lips were cracking and bleeding.
Guys, that itself is the very first sign of major dehydration.
The hunger pangs wasn't that bad and I could ease through the day while keeping myself busy.
The puffiness was still there but I felt that my mood was better.
I even sat through a catch up session with my friend and him tempting me with cake.
HAHAH. Talk about the true test of mind over body.
DAY THREE
The last day was okay. The only weird thing is I started feeling faint and giddy before I broke fast.
I reckon it might be that I wasn't hydrating enough and I didn't dutifully take my AM/PM Signal OS pills for this reboot. PLUS, I wasn't a broth drinker so I'm kinda like lacking on the benefits of what the broth can provide my body with.
So I broke fast at the 62nd hour and took my lunch an hour later.
Overall I'm quite happy with the deflating of my tummy through this reboot.
The bloating from the carbs is really no fun.
And I like that I can see my ab lines clearly now! I'm really inspired to go work for those abs i the months to come.
Maybe I should document the journey here too?
Anyhow, although I managed to push through this reboot, I for sure will not be going high carb before the reboot again.
Now that I know the difference between going high carb and going low carb before reboot, I'm definitely going for the latter.
Also, I'm glad that the fact that I could do a mind over body thingy during this reboot, it shows that I do have control over the thoughts and temptation in my head.
And this is one of the other reason why I do this reboot.
It is to train my mind on what can be achieved. And that if I were to set my intentions right, I can achieve them.
The next reboot will be happening on 15th May.
